R.I.P , dave was a teacher of mine but we spent hours talking about fishing in class and also such a inspiration and very good with tool's , i could listen to him for days and not get bored but unfortunatly i never got to disscuss spearfishing with him as i didnt do it back then , R.I.P sir

OMD died two years ago today but I had to smile at this pic of him aged 15 in about 1967. look at all the Yorkshire holiday makers.....I wish it was like that now instead of all these bankers!
Never knew the man, but his actions spoke volumes. A real loss when someone so giving in knowledge passes on. RIP

Can anyone recommend a good torch and shore visibility light..I saw the swimmer on 'island hospital' had flashing LEDs, are these any good? I think it's time to try a night dive.
Ricko, as Mart says there's lots of info around, but ref the shore light, i wouldnt bother. i tried it a bit, but used to lose sight of it once i got further out. In the end it got taken anyway lol. you may want to carry a compass tho, especially in poor vis as its easier than looking up all the time.
if you want to do a night dive sans gun then i would be up for that...? if the weather settles down...
I have had a look at the sea fisheries site, it holds lots of info & videos of killing large amounts of crabs.
I think it is definitely a good thing to have as there is now somewhere, where question can be asked in front of the public ... although I doubt if there will be many answers that appeal to the conservationist.
Lets hope this facility will be a better & more accurate source of info for us rather than from the 'hearsay' will so often rely on!
