Holiday Guernsey 2007

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Podge the quote i got was for the four of us in my car which on reflection looking at your price doesn't seem too bad split four ways.I will check with the others or maybe just go over as a foot passanger and hire a car there?

There’s room in my car.
You and me in the front (the big boys) and Brett, Rowan could sit on 1 shot and Jim’s knee in the back?rofl
Six up in the Alfa if we don’t get arrested at the least it would be a laugh.:)

Cheers Foxfish i will call them this weekend.

Six up in the Alfa Podge....ohhhh yessss....rofl rofl rofl it would resemble a scene from MAD MAX ....

Accommodation ? I think that the Cotils centre has self catering appartments for £16 a night ? Not sure - you will have to check - it is above town and has awesome views over Herm - it is a religious place though so not sure on bass gutting etc... Campsites too ? You can camp in Herm too - not had much luck there with bass but there are fish there for sure...

Well I have trawled though this thread, as far as I can work out there are six people actually booked up.
Podge
Stuckin
Scottie & partner
Spaniard
James T
However I have a list of another nine people as unconfirmed?

Well no one else has confirmed so I will start to put the plan together based on our 6 guest.
To start with can you guys let me know what time (& date) you are arriveing in Guernsey, then we can go through the tides on the days you are hear, see who wants to catch what & who wants to do what in the everning - party or night dive for intance!!

My new spa is rated for 7 persons :) . Also been practicing catching 7 bass a day - one each :) .

Details of what transport you got or plan on would also help. Who's gonna need lifts etc. Where at you staying? Anyone need weights and/or weight belts?

There's suposed to be some new whizzo digi map of Guernsey on the visit Guernsey web site. Post a link if I can. Plenty of other info on the net for visitors to read up on. You need to look up the driving tips if you're gonna drive over here. Max speed limit is 35mph and Guernsey has some unique filter systems  .

Not long now. Looking forward to it.

Dave

Just had a peek, go to VisitGuernsey - Guernsey Channel Islands Tourist Board, choose your language and there is a link called island map on the left towards the bottom of the links. I had a quick peek and it's OK for finding places I guess but not as good as the maps you find in the hire cars or the directins we can provide people with if they need. after all a few spots are down "tracks" which may not be shown on the map.

Jim (stuckinsurrey) and myself are on the 10.00 sailing from Weymouth on Friday 27th so should be with you at around 12.30 ish.
Booked into the St George Hotel for 3 nights to catch the boat home on Monday at around midday.
As for the spearing I really don’t mind and would be happy to catch whatever is around at the time. Although a few nice lobsters to come home with would be fantastic.
I’ll PM my mobile number over to Dave if that’s ok as am not sure how Foxy is getting on with his computer problems.

Hi Guys

Had kept out of this thread because I'm getting married on 4th August!! However have been informed that 28th july is the hen night, I'm not invited to that!

So.... if anyone needs lifts, use of a boat, help etc count me in for saturday

Andy

Ok Podge I will be there to meet you & Jim at the boat terminal, St george is a 3 min drive.
Unfortunatly we will miss the low water but can try somewhere for bass in the afternoon, high tide is at 17.41. Low water on Sat 12.25pm so you should be safe to party on friday night !!

Looks like I will miss the trip as I will be starting my new job about trip time and will be off to Germany to do some training.

Maybe next time

Foxy that will be great we’ll be in a blue Alfa Romeo and an afternoon swim would be just fine.

John it’s a shame that you’re not going to make it, but on the other hand it’ll mean all the more for us..heheherofl rofl

OK so in spite of Foxy's excellent work putting this together, I'm still not quite sure when everyone is arriving apart from Podge and Jim on Friday midday? Just wanted to book some days off if anyone's also around Thurs/Fri.

Quite agree re the party at Andy R's - when is the stag do anyway Andy?:) :friday :crutch :yack zzz :waterwork :ko :inlove (p.s. did you know it's "enterrer sa vie de garcon" in French?
