Anybody around the Edinburgh/ Inverness or Fort William areas fancy hooking up for a trip? Back in Scotland and desperate to hit the water!

First dive of the season. Nice family trip out west and we found the sun too. Most of Shetland has been covered in fog for two weeks. Wifey took our wee 8 week old around the coast for a walk and I snaffled 50 mins in the water. 16 scallops over 16 dives. Some blanks and some 3 at a time. Great getting out. Scallops were in between 4.5 and 10m. Most were had at 9.5 though. Grabbed the doggy with my hand in about 2m. Great feast was had tonight and the doggy is ready for a curry in two days time. Water at 13/14 which is surprising considering lack of sun. Good day! ImageUploadedByTapatalk1374428008.392567.jpg

Just been down to Dunbar for a look around. It looks promising around the rocks over from the battery. Has anybody every tried there, and would anybody fancy giving it a go at some point?

A bit of Pollock sniping at the weekend with a Caccia 115 & Tomba kit.

Seems to be a few around and there's some good sized ones too.

Anyone fancy a dive on Wednesday?

I'd love to but my gear is in a box ready for two weeks on Guernsey :)

Damn! We finished the last of the scollops to even offer as an incentive! Have a nice holiday mate, off to Cornwall this week so we both have long drives to look forward to hah!

Hey guys,
I'm about to move to Scotland in 2 weeks time. I'm from Cornwall and I love spear fishing. I'm moving to Auchengate in Irvine. Is there any decent spots to Kayak/Spear nearby or do I need to hang up my fins and gun and take up a new hobby?

Blanked the past two times. Saw some shootable fish the first time but it turned out my gopro was in the way of aiming (good excuse). Must have popper something in my eye on the dive as it has a lovely big red area now.
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1375437846.125054.jpgSecond trip no fish spotted at all (how is it the Shetland coast is so dead?) but I did come across a big group of Mauve Stingers and spent a good while trying to get footage from the camera on my head. I did see lots of spoots so I'll be hitting them this afternoon.

Would love to see decent fish.

Blanked again but got enough of these for dinner. Mistakingly spent an hour in the shallows only getting two, got fed up so went out looking for fish and came across a big bed of them on My return. The spot is less than 5 minutes from my house so I'll definitely be down there again soon.
Salting works some of the time but took about 5-10 mins for them to come out and I'd find them lying on the seabed. Might try and fashion a hook to see if manual extraction is possible whilst freediving. Definitely need to up the lead from the 7kg I have on.
Found an empty shell of one the length of my forearm.

Absolutely delicious. Steamed them in a pan with just sprig onion, garlic and wine. So very sweet. Chopped some up too and stuck in a Stirfry. Very nice!

First dive since our amazing few weeks in Guernsey. I missed seeing all those Bass & Mullet but its really not so bad in the cold North and the grass is always greener and all that.

2 of us had a night dive on Fri and got a few lobster followed by a quick look for some Pollock on Sat. Not a bad weekend really
