I must have missed you all. Got to Branksome Chine car park about 1735 and walked up to Branksome Dene steps then played fetch for an hour but didn't see any sign of any kayaks or spearguns the whole time.

Nevermind, I've pm'd Broughy my details so hopefully if I manage to get an early finish on a tuesday again I'll see you another time.

Brad

Sorry I couldn't make tonight, still shattered after getting in this morning at 4 after from the Stag in Latvia. Will be heading to my scratcher for a bit of shut eye soon. Hopefully make next Tuesday.
Off down to Newquay this weekend & a catch up with Surfnspear, hopefully get out past the headland of the Gannel if it is calm or take out his rib, if not my 7.2 minmal will be coming down.

Hi all,
is there anybody up for a night dive tomorrow? I mean night dive at about 11 pm.Kimmeridge bay or Swanage (near the pier) not by the pier becouse someone doesnt want :naughty. The sea should be flat calm with a very little wind coming from the west so both places are ok! Please let me know if you want get some Lobsters or flatties and of course some bass:inlove.

Hi Brad,

sorry you missed us - it was Durley Chine - I think one of the lads confused you with his post about an easier place for him to put his kayak in - naming no names (Butcher).

Good turn out tho about 9 of us - unfortunetly no fish caught however diving on some rocks in 7 metres was a personal best for some of the newguys

Toni & I missed out on the pub/chat as we had to take he boat back - I think all had a good time?

all had a good time?

Football or dive? Football or dive? Ended up in the water, at a spot I knew I could do a decent drift dive on. Many nice bass seen between 3-5lb, plus a few 5lb plus. Many shots fumbled (largely due to shooting from the surface - but that's the name of the game at this particular spot). Came home with 3lb bass, but would have come home with a much better haul if I'd had my act together.

Oh yeah, sorry Braddyboy for leading you off the trail there

It was a bit different for me to use a kayak to go spearing so was the highlight of a bad day- I had already lost my wallet and my motorbike got nicked that night =(

....and that mad woman with those crazy dogs in the carpark

Cheers,
-Sam

I wouldn't think twice,I love footie but spearfishing come first above all.

Sorry Tony & Paul but I will miss this weekends comp due to England playing Germany! - Not one I can miss I'm afraid but I am off to try new hunting ground (for me anyway) in the morning across to Bognor before the match starts.

The world cup only happens every 4 years, I can spearfish as and when I chose pretty much!

Cheers

Ryan

sorry i couldn't make the club dive chaps. i only have so many brownie points and i used almost all of them going with a buddy who is studying in bristol and only gets down here every 4 or 5 months. he's the guy who i started with nigh on 10 years ago so i couldn't (wouldn't) turn him down. went early tuesday morning to a couple of spots but only saw schoolies except the 3lber i missed early on. oh and the slightly bigger one i fluffed in the racing tide after matt left :head.

managed to get a bonus dive in yesterday arvo too. went out around peveril point, durlston bay and that place that gaz knows the name of but i can never remember, on the inside of the point. saw plenty of schoolies and a few bigger pairs but i reckon we missed loads hiding in all the weed, the kelp was about a foot deep......more in places and there's plenty of overhangs and holes for them to hide in. at one point i dropped down into the weed in about 5 feet of water and didn't even notice 4 or 5 great big spines sticking up from the weed til i almost landed on them. needless to say, in a effort to bring the gun round under my body i disturbed the biggest bass i saw all day......probably 4lb........tell you what though, i'd have never seen him if i hadn't almost squashed him, even in 5 feet of water!!!!:martial.

came home with 3 meal size bass. one of which got tangled in some jap weed and as i tried to sort it out i noticed a pair of 3lbers about 3 feet away almost laughing at me. they hung around, despite the struggle and flying weed clumps, til i had their buddy on the stringer then conviniently slinked off into the distance.

great spot though (on slack water!)

No worries, hopefully I'll be able to make it to one again soon. Keep me on the mailing/text list please, as it's often very last minute I know I can get home in time.

Cheers

Took my brother out spearfishing today, for the 3rd time in his life. Went to a spot that was lovely and clear, and fairly deep, to get him used to diving - not many fish about though.

Moved on to another spot that was teeming with bass, although mainly undersized. Did see a few takers, but can't seem to hit a barn door at the moment. Luckily, for the 10 inch bass, my brother can't hit a barn door either.

He has since been re-re-educated about shooting at undersized fish!

There is some gorgeous viz out there at the moment.
