I seem to be getting smoother and faster with mine with each swim. Like most fins, there is a bit of a learning curve for me. It takes me time to find its sweet spot, and then it becomes even more a natural extension. I'm hoping to get some videos done in the next couple of days. AA, hope you heal up fast! Just call it water rehab exercise, right?

The knee swelled up like a grapefruit today.

Gotta take it easy for a bit. :(

It's an incredible fin.

AA, you might check out rocktape.com. I use kinesiotaping/sports taping/power taping regularly in my office, after rehabbing myself from two torn quads. There are many different applications-some are designed to facilitate reduction of swelling/lymphatic fluid drainage to help reduce swelling. It works by improving proprioception; the neural communication from muscle to brain that helps brain to control muscles. While it won't make up for a torn pcl, it may help you manage it and heal faster. It also comes in a waterproof version, and will stay on for several days. Here's an example of a lymphatic drainage taping:

Thank goodness you guys are feeding me some of your swim tid bits to keep me fed untill the que shortens for my 2015 to arrive.....

Interesting stuff, hope it heels fast!
Hey Ted, sent you an email with subject containing "Urgent" "Zombie attack" "Alien invasion" "Cookies but no milk"
If you're tuning something, I'll wait, just let me know what's up.

M!
We need you swimming and writing!

Conjured a new Luno hack while passing along the bottom staring at the surface this morning... Charging drill battery tonight..... Looking for needle strong enough to pierce flukes and very strong monofilament line.... If someone doesn't post soon the butcher may make another appearance on my 14 pro.... Photo is a hint:

Hi Chipswim,
You may be better considering an eyelet punch/tool if you're considering 'holeing' your poor fluke. I'm fairly confident that strong monofilament line would slice your fluke as soon as pressure was applied. Looks interesting though.

Did you experiment any more with the bump (sorry forgotten what they are called) Idea?
I wondered if applying circular tyre repair patches (you'd have to smooth them with lacquer or resin) would smooth the flow or just cause eddies?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that a 2015 is in my pile of pressies from Santa (presuming my place in the queue has arrived at the top by then)

Fredd!

I've laid out all the implements you suggest, sterilized them and prepared to anesthetize my Luno so it won't directly recall the modifications at hand. Been studying flukes....

I was actually hoping yours had arrived to swim and write about...

I'm so curious how people are getting along with their new 2015 Lunos. I know somebody has them. Just trying to bump them into writing....

Usually when I'm swimming in the morning I'm thinking "this Luno.... My personalized Luno must be the best one in the whole world! It's so fun."

Lately I'm thinking Ted has taken some very fresh directions and expressed them beautifully... SO whoever has the 2015's ....... I'm thinking: THEY now have the best lunos in the world! Just trying to smoke out some details by threatening to modify mine further. I was hoping the needles and thread and gory surgical implications would hit a nerve on somebody somewhere.

Naturally this is risking further evidence to Ted that I'm mentally unstable and should not be allowed near tools of any kind¡

I'll be glad to write down my impressions when I do eventually get my 2015 Lunocet Pro, Chipswim. No injuries here, and I'm in the pool apnea training three times a week. I usually use short rubber fins or a Finis foil for monofin technique, so it would be nice to get something more substantial on my feet!

Just keep making those Lunos, Ted. And I hope that you feel better soon AA. Looking forward to reading more of your detailed reviews.

Finding it interesting how similar our times in 25 yards or meters are to a car in a quarter mile.

25 seconds for most anything on the road.
22 to 15 seconds getting more fun. May be able to pass some other vehicles.
14, 13, 12 You've got something pretty zippy. You can probably move up in traffic without showing all you've got. (Where I am now with my Luno. 11.8 seconds)
11, 10, 9 This is getting serious! You stop resembling normal vehicles or swimmers. Can't hide all your tricks anymore. Tend to leave distinctive tracks. Clever marketers can sell tickets to find out who's latest ideas are the best. A tenth of a second faster may cost a fortune to find.
8 and down beyond my current imagination. Almost a different sport.

So, try to write in this thread stuff anyone could try... The exo spring is just a chunk of tire... It works incredibly well. Hopefully the exo mod is NOT important for 2015 Lunocet models. ( Hoping you guys will tell me that!)

Till then consider this: Your fin is a water pump. The more water out the back the more you go forward!

The split between flukes is great for shipping but creates a water leak. I've joined my flukes before with ho hum results. This time I've very simply joined the two sides with a very large tire patch folded in half. Somewhat to my surprise it seems to have yielded a more noticeable difference!

I can partially tell because I've been breaking something every morning.... NOT TED'S PARTS! They are NOT giving up. But my own tried and true modifications. I'm able to coast more between strokes if I wish OR fill my mask with water if I go full throttle. (I don't have a nice low volume mask like I see in your pictures .... Just a decent Speedo recreational.)

Here's a photo if you'd like to try it:

(Note of caution: I'm still swimming a 2014 Ted has fine tuned water going out the back of 2015's so the ideas may be inconsequential.) Just keeping myself entertained till you guys start writing about your brand new 2015's!

The 2015 Pro is great - don't molest / bastardize / Franken-fin the 2015.

If you do, I'll full-Nelson you in the water and blow all of my air out.

...... A concise, enthusiastic review!!

Your knee injury.... never welcome came at just the wrong time. We are really missing your analytical view point!

Went back and reread your 2014 pro review and even the early William Truebridge review before the modern generations. I'd love to see what he thinks of these new ones.

I noticed someone reviewing another brand mentioned his Lunocet felt "mechanical". That had to be a 2012 model or earlier. These newer ones are as "organic" an appendage as I could imagine.

I'd welcome the full Nelson if it meant your knee was better!

In the next 2 days, I have accomplished freedivers taking the 2015 out for their second swims and will be getting some video footage.

The feedback and desire to get it on their feet a second time has been very positive /enthusiastic.

I'm wishing I could write more, but have not been in the water in over a week. Had a big exam to study/prepare for, and successfully passed. I'm now a certified medical examiner for truck driver physical exams. The 2015 is definitely the most organic natural feeling fin I have used to date, including my Glide fin. May get to swim in the morning! Oh-check out the Frank Fish article: https://www.deeperblue.com/freediving-biomimetic-propulsion/

Terrific new article by Frank Fish Doc. Figured you were submerged in books and hadn't come up for air for a while. Congrats on your test too.

I'll bet the conversations between Frank and Ted are deep!

You actually paid $$$ and took time to study, so that you could cup parts of trucker anatomy and ask them to cough?? Whatever floats our boat. I don't judge you... Really I don't.

The 2015 Pro is super-organic feeling.
Very natural and very much an extension of your body. It is helped by the fact that your feet aren't screaming at you after :20 like a tight-fitting hyperfin. :D

Guys - I happened to be in Atlanta last week for (real non-db) work and got the opportunity to spend some time with Ted at his workshop seeing the Luno Pro's being made. ... He has a backlog but is expecting to have all backlog items made and shipped within the next couple of weeks.

I think we should consider the possibility that Ted's mask is malfunctioning...
